Tutankhamen (English: Tutankhamun, Egyptian: twt-ˤnḫ-ı͗mn, IPA: [təwaːt ʕaːnəx ʔaˈmaːn]) (1341- 1323 BC) was a pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of the New Kingdom period in ancient Egypt (reigned circa 1332-1323 BC). His original name, Tutankhaten, meaning "image of Aton", was later changed to Tutankhamen, meaning "image of Amun", which illustrates his shift from worshiping the god Aton to worshiping the god Amun.
