The reverse of the coin depicts the three wise monkeys, respectively with their eyes, ears and mouth covered. The monkeys represent an ancient Japanese proverb, inscribed on the reverse: “SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL, SPEAK NO EVIL”.
