According to Chinese mythology, the Jade Emperor directs a great race to determine which animals will appear in the 12 zodiac signs. In order to complete the race, each animal must cross a fast-moving river. The agile rabbit floats on a log with stepping stones to reach the other side in fourth place.
Those born in the Year of the Rabbit 2023, 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975 and every 12 years ago are said to be intelligent, creative, alert and compassionate.
Gold plated design
The coin depicts a colorful representation of a vigilant rabbit with upright ears and another rabbit reaching for a budding branch. The design includes the Chinese character for "rabbit", the inscription "Rabbit 2023" and the "p" mint mark of the Perth Mint.
Display Packaging
Accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, the coin comes in a classic display case with a transparent magnetic cover decorated with a geometric design. The case was deposited in the illustrated consignor of the final stage of the drawing competition, during which the rabbit appealed to its wits to successfully cross the river.
