Late 19th-century art communities were left in awe when Edvard Munch presented a different type of art to the public.
He depersonalized the human figure in the background of red skies following a volcanic eruption.
This painting went on to become an important piece in the new art branch of the expressionist movement.
The original painting depicts a man screaming on a bridge and was inspired by a hallucinatory experience in which Munch felt and heard a scream throughout nature.
