About Goddess Series

Derived from ancient myths and legends, the influence of the Goddesses has reached every corner of our modern lives. Their myths, religious legends, histories and folk tales have influenced movies, television shows, museum exhibitions and even well-known brands such as cameras and running shoes.

These stories tell of family entanglements, dynastic wars, the gains and losses of love, and the worlds of nature and magic, the realms of gods and men. Their legends are filled with fantastical creatures and characters that stimulate our imagination and influence the norms of our lives. Morality, virtue, faith and ethics are all important parts of the goddess myth.
The latest chapter in this series features the Titan goddess Eos and the first ever silver coin minted with the portrait of King Charles III.

Delicate minting techniques

Eros is the Titan goddess of the dawn and has two siblings: Helios, the sun god, and Selene, the moon goddess. She is married to Asterius, the god of twilight, and together they control the alternation of day and night in the realm of mortals and gods.

Eos is the Titanic goddess of dawn in Homer's Elysium and Odyssey, described by adjectives such as "rose-colored fingers," "early riser," and "dressed in a crimson robe. She is a goddess of grace and beauty who greets the day in a pink dress embroidered with flowers. In the sculpture, she wears a coronet-like headdress and a pair of large, white feathered wings on her back.

Design Innovation

The design comes from renowned coin and medal artist Joel Iskowitz, who cleverly engraved on the coin the image of Eros driving a golden chariot, pulled by her team of horses, to welcome the arrival of a new day, showing that each new day is full of hope and vitality.

If you are a friend with a unique passion for ancient mythology or a collector of precious metals and coins, then this 2023 St. Helena - Eos and the War Horse Silver Coin 1 oz is definitely worth treasuring.
