In the Malta Historical Heritage series unveiled in 2023, this commemorative coin, valued at 10 euros and weighing 2 ounces of silver, marks a perfect end to the series with its exquisite high-relief craftsmanship. This is the final chapter of the trilogy launched in collaboration with the Central Bank of Malta, where the German mint uses advanced techniques to vividly bring the legends and history of the Knights of Malta to life on this precious metal.
The obverse of the coin depicts a valiant Maltese knight with the backdrop of an eagle-eyed watchtower standing in Valletta, as well as the strong fortress of Saint Angelo in Birgu, which served as the headquarters of the Order during the siege period. On the reverse side, we see a Maltese knight firmly holding a shield, on which is engraved the coat of arms symbolizing the Central Bank of Malta.
This rare commemorative coin has a limited minting of only 999 pieces, each treated with a special precious finish, and comes with an official certificate of authenticity and exquisite original packaging, providing collectors and history enthusiasts with a unique collecting opportunity.
